About Us

RMHCCF has come to mean care, closeness, and comfort for over 35,000 families. Find out why we are truly “The House that Love Built.”

Our Mission

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida finds, creates, and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.

Our Purpose

Our cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House, provides a home away from home for families with children receiving treatment at hospitals and medical facilities in Orlando.

Before the Ronald McDonald Houses, parents were sleeping in their cars or in chairs in the waiting room, eating out of vending machines, or bearing the expense of impersonal hotel rooms.

Our Houses

There are three Ronald McDonald Houses in Orlando– one on the campus of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, one on the campus of AdventHealth for Children, and one on the campus of Nemours Children’s Health.

Each year, about 2,700 families stay with us to be close to their critically ill children.

How RMH Makes Our Community Stronger

  • 50% of the families we serve come from Central Florida.
  • We save families more than $5.6 million in hotel costs alone every year.
  • When they can, families factor the Ronald McDonald House into their decision about where to bring their child for care.
  • Our not-for-profit hospital partners benefit from increased patient referrals and repeat visits due to patient satisfaction.

Our Relationship with McDonald’s

From the moment the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia, PA, the entire McDonald’s system (owner/operators, suppliers, employees and customers) has helped support families with sick children providing stability and vital resources.

McDonald’s support extends from monetary contributions and volunteerism, to cause related marketing promotions and the space to place RMHC Donation Canisters that raise money for Chapters around the world.  McDonald’s has helped RMHC positively impact millions of children and their families, and continues to provide valuable resources and support to help us expand our core programs and services.

RMHCCF receives support from McDonald’s through our local owner/operators. They generously donate their time and talents to serve on our volunteer board and committees and provide valuable in-kind support.

Additionally, financial contributions from Central Florida McDonald’s owner/operators make up approximately 15 percent of our annual budget. For the rest of our funding, we rely on the generosity of individuals, companies, and foundations in our community.

Ronald McDonald House Around the World

The first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia in 1974. Today, the organization is worldwide with programs in 43 countries and regions– a global network of hope and healing.

Thanks to Orlando’s prominence as both a tourist destination and a pediatric healthcare destination, our three Houses have served families from 64 countries.
